Zatik children.

Armenia, Yerevan, 2008

The earthquake, the fall of the Soviet bloc and the Karabakh conflict blew up in poverty within the country. Initially the idea was to create a home that welcomes beggars and street children in the Armenian capital.
By 1993, Zatik officially became a state orphanage. The children were enrolled in nearby schools and the orphanage has hired additional teachers to fill gaps in school.
In 2009, Zatik about 150 children, divided into three groups of girls and three boys. Each group lives in a part of the orphanage with its dormitories, its health and its staff.
Zatik has 69 employees including 9 in the administrative department for health dentist, pediatrician and four nurses, including a nutritionist. 21 There are 18 teachers, 21 childminders and 15 technical staff.
The orphanage also welcomes volunteers worldwide who lead activities for children, and provide an opening to the world.
Unable to accommodate children above 18 years, the orphanage has expanded its ability to host. "Rainbow House" is a house near Zatik, home girls over 18 years to enable them to juggle work and school. Each girl participates in household expenses, it is a beginning of independence.

Castres France 2007 (81)

In 2005 I met the gypsy community of Castres. Going to see them, I thought to find the folklore of Django's guitar, because there are kids out there Reinhardt!

A few miles from my home, I went for the first time in this camp. The meetings that I have made have made me aware of the living conditions of Travellers in France. No health, problems of garbage, rats, an alarming state of health ... in general indifference. The cliché of Gypsy folk had to be crushed by reality. No, gypsies do not play all the music!

Their living conditions were no longer acceptable, the Besson Law was passed and no land was built to standards. After a day of wrath and burned a few tires, the City Council has manifested itself. A year later, a reception area was born, hygiene was again finally correct but many problems remain.

By working with the Social Coordinator Myriam Hernandez and Kader Doulat I discovered social workers. It takes courage to implement innovative actions, and face many obstacles.

The del Rocio pilgrimage

A trip of fervor and dust

Andalucia 2005

Invited by chance to make the pilgrimage with the brotherhood of "Cabezas de San Juan", I experienced a moment of nomadism and see that every year for ten days, gypsies and non-gypsies of Spain found themselves around the same fire.

At Pentecost, the Virgin del Rocio also called "paloma blanca the" gathers around her hundreds of thousands of pilgrims in the village del Rocio in the province of Huelva.

This is on foot, horseback and 4 × 4 that accompany the pilgrims "Sinpecado" of their village, a kind of flag representing the Virgin and transported by mules.

This movement brings together gypsies and payos (non-gypsies) in a return to nomadism. Today in trailers pulled by tractors, when the convoy stops, and we rest in the evening around the fire dancing Sevillanas.

Reached El Rocio, this takes on a religious pilgrimage and fetish orgies when the virgin is exposed to view.

This is Nevoy (45) I attended the annual gathering. More than 3000 caravans, about 30,000 people came to pray, be baptized and to receive training as a pastor.
